Marvin & The Dogs CD: LIVE AT GEORGE'S (2006)
Marvin and the Dogs cultivated a strong and dedicated following in Wisconsin and were one of the hottest R & B and original bands in the region from 1979 to 1985 largely due to the unique chemistry of talent, experience and personality each member brought to the group. In 1985, the band members went their separate ways to explore other musical and business opportunities. Original members include Marvin Dykhuis who now plays lead guitar in limited performances with Tish Hinojosa, freelances on guitar and other stringed instruments in Austin, TX while also acting as producer and studio session man. Richard Holly (harmonica, guitar and vocals) is still very involved with music and has earned higher educational degrees in his other profession of electronics and computer science. Mark Paffrath (drums and vocals) has pursued music in several successful duos, one of which was with fellow “Dog” Richard Holly in the duo Paffrath & Holly. They released a CD together and still do occasional shows. Mark also performs regularly as a solo in the region and has released two CDs. Good friend and bass player John Redmann remained very active in many area bands and took over the management and ownership of his family’s inn in the Door County resort area of Wisconsin until he was lost in a tragic accident late in 2003. In the Summer of 2006, the group released its first full length recording “Live at George’s” recorded in the Fall of 2003. It
contains many band favorites - originals and covers - capturing the flavor and feel of their 25 year history. It is a lasting memento for a core legion of supportive fans and a tribute and memorial to their friend John Redmann.
